Do you need to do a short-term detox? As always, there’s a little grey area in the answer here but my belief is no, you should never approach health with a short-term mindset. We in the alternative health space are as guilty as the conventional space for offering pills for your ills. I’ve seen a lot of short term detox activity recently and it’s a little strange because so many people continue to live toxifying lifestyles and think doing a detox every now and then, often paying big money to do so, will help!
As I say in this video, that’s like chopping the weeds in the garden instead of pulling them out by the roots!
Yes, there are times in which a shift in your health approach may become more intense so that you can achieve a desired outcome (perhaps a weight loss effect or a parasite protocol) but there should always be an emphasis on maintaining health in the long-term!! I notice with the CHEK institute, which is where I was officially trained, there is a large emphasis on parasite cleanses but not enough emphasis on fixing why they’re there in the first place!
When we begin to shift our mentality from this pill for my ill to one of a more holistic, steady and balanced approach, we can see some pretty wonderful things. The roller-coaster of feeling down or guilty with poor lifestyle choices followed by the internal and mental cleansing of a detox can be replaced by a constant feeling of abundant health and vitality!
